XXX - Emergency!  DEADLY - CALL YOUR VET ASAP

RODENTICIDES - XXX. 
contents often  warfarin, fumarin, diphacinone, bromadiolone    

XXX - Emergency!  Poisons for rats, mice, gophers,   moles  are among  the most common and deadly of small animal  toxins. Poisons usually come in flimsy cardboard  containers which  any dog, puppy can open.  CALL YOUR VET ASAP. 

ASPIRIN,     IBUPROFEN,   PHENYLBUTAZONE, NAPROXEN    (NSAID toxicity) - X

X - Dangerous. Widely prescribed with caution  by veterinarians to relieve pain from arthritis,   and other conditions. Animal dosages,   however, are much lower than human dosages.

ANTIFREEZE - XXX

XXX - Emergency!. It takes only about 1/2 teaspoon per pound for a dog to get a toxic dose of ethylene glycol, the active ingredient in antifreeze, and less for a cat. There is currently a new product on the market    (one trade name is "Sierra"tm) which claims to  be safer than other brands of antifreeze. This  product contains propylene glycol as its active  ingredient. If ingested, it can still cause the  nervous system injury.

 CLEANING PRODUCTS - XXX
 toilet bowl cleaners, bleach, detergents, caustics (e.g., Drano tm, Ajax (tm), pine oils and others

XXX - Emergency!  CALL YOUR VET ASAP

GARBAGE/FOOD POISONING - X

 X - Dangerous  "road kill,"  garbage cans, etc.  food  material (i.e., left-over hamburger) that has   been contaminated by bacteria and  bacteria-produced toxins is susceptible to this  poisoning. Severely  affected animals can go into shock and even die  as a result of the absorbed bacterial toxins.

ANT POISONS/MISCELLANEOUS
     INSECTICIDES - XX

 XX - Highly Dangerous

CHOCOLATE (Drug class:
     Methylxanthines) - X

X - Dangerous. Only a moderate amount needs to be  eaten by an animal, typically a dog, in order to  be poisonous (approx. 1/2 oz. of baking  chocolate per pound of body weight ). EXAMPLES:  Candy bars, brownies, chocolate cake

FLEA PRODUCTS - X

X - Dangerous.  Almost all topical flea  preparations (dips, sprays, etc.) can be  poisonous. Do not use  products intended for dogs on cats as may be are poisonous to cats.

HEAVY METALS (Lead, Zinc) - X
ZINC PENNIES

 X - Dangerous.  Dogs ingest zinc in the form of pennies.

TEFLON - X

Hot pan Vapors   -Birds,   not dogs
